The PX 100 open dynamic supra-aural mini headphones are perfect for mobile players. Their outstanding sound reproduction and foldable design make them ideal for outdoor use and traveling.
Great sounding headphones with amazing overall sound. You can easily focus in on every instrument and vocal in the music and is very clean and crisp. These headphones are NOT for someone who downloads their music and expect the quality to be CD quality.
You will hear a BIG difference between a downloaded MP3 and a song ripped straight from a CD. The headphones will also dramatically bring out any crackles hissing etc. that a downloaded track may have. I use these for my Ipod Nano and sometimes I look have around to make sure a sound I heard through these isn't there.
I also noticed that some reviews say you can hear some sounds and instruments that you couldn't hear before, and I was amazed when I put them on and heard instruments and sound effects that I have never heard before.
One last thing is that you can crank these up as loud as the player will let you and you don't have to worry about damaging the headphones.
Strength
-Volume level
-Equal amount of bass, treble mid etc.
-Clean bass (not muddy sounding)
-Very lightweight
-Great price
-Uses VERY little power when used with Ipod
-Will fit almost any heads while still feeling comfortable and sometimes you forget their there.
Weakness
-Sound HORRIBLE when listening to most MP3 tracks downloaded from Limewire Kazaa etc.
-Doesn't handle high frequencies very well when volume level is at max, like when you’re listening to Rush lead Geddy Lee at Max volume.

Summary
I want to confirm anything positive you’ve read about the PX-100 headphones. As a musician with a post-master’s degree in music, I am VERY picky about music. The Sennheisers were my fifth try at finding decent replacements to the stock ear buds with my Toshiba Gigabeat F-40. With everything else I tried, I had to go into the unit’s EQ settings to find something to make the music tolerable. With these, I just plugged them in with the response set at flat and I was AMAZED! I even tried some of it’s EQ settings but they really sounded fake and phony.
My Toshiba has a wide range of music on it and the PX-100’s came through like a champ on EVERYTHING I tried; solo piano, rock, fusion, jazz combos, jazz big bands, classical, or pop. As a bass player, I’m again very picky. Instead of weak, thumpy, or undefined bass playback I got with other units, with these the bass is tight, clean, and extended. Even the notes on the low B-string of a 5-string or 6-string bass guitar came through great!
I found that I heard things in my music I had missed before. The sound is so smooth and the phones are so comfortable, I found I can listen for long periods of time with no listener fatigue.
Also, the open design works for me. I can use them in running or biking without worrying about getting hit by a bus. I find that when I’m wearing them around the house, I don’t have to say “Huh?”…”What?”…”Huh?” when they talk to me. However, if you need to block out the outside sounds (airlines, noisy rooms, etc.), then obviously these are not for you.
Whatever price you end up paying for the Sennheiser PX-100 headphones, they are a great value. Even if you’re picky like me, I think you’re in for a treat with these!
Strength
Natural, smooth overall sound.
Great value.
Light and comfortable.
Open air design (in some applications).
If you own an I-POD then these are the headphones for you.The music reproduction through these headphones via the I-POD is extremely true to form. Also with all the different settings from the I-POD you can choose they way you want the music to be produced.Light weight, comfortable and has a convienent carrying case.Bass, treble and everything in between making these headphones stand out compared to any other portable headphone.I also own the HD 650 when I'm indoors and please what ever you do don't plug a high end headphone in to an I-POD as there not suited for that purpose.ENJOY!

I have Sennheiser PX 100 and Philips SBC HS500 Headphones and this Philips headphones gives me much better sound quality. I can't understand admiration for Sennheiser PX 100 seen in almost every review on the net. Sound from PX 100 is flat, high frequences induces terrible resonance (tested on Enya and Beethoven piano concerto). Philips SBC HS500 are much cheaper and much better!!!
Also, they are more comfortable then Sennheiser.

These headphones in my opinion match the hype that surrounds them. For all of those out there that think that they stink, spend the time to break them in for a few days. The midrange will smooth out and be quite nice as will the bass. They are a very strong headphone for less than sixty dollars. I primarily bought them as a replacement for my stock ipod headphones. First off, the build quality is okay, I am kind of worried about the durability of the cord as it is quite thin. The headphones are reasonably comfortabe and quite light. The open air design makes them easy to listen to for long periods of time and you don't feel completely cut off from the world around you. The PX100s seem to be quite accurate, which may not satisfy all listeners, as they sound quite laidback with many rock cds. They sound fantastic with Ben Folds, Moby, live music, etc. or music that doesn't require the upper reaches of the treble or the lowest of the lows to grab your attention of the music. I was able to hear a glass breaking in the Ben Folds Live disk on the song Jane that I had never heard before. I still haven't decided whether I will keep them, as I want to see if the Grado SR80s are much better. I should hope so as they are close to twice the price. I will take these with me to do a direct comparison on music that I like as well as the use of my ipod. I just don't think that I want to carry around a headphone as large as the Grados.
Strength
Soundstage, ability to sit back and listen without too much critique
Weakness
Missing the highest of highs and lowest of lows. Not best with edgy rock music, probably not the greatest for hip-hop either.
